Paul- Thanks for sharing this. I particularly love it when you said: "I’m not one of those parents that quickly tires of their kids when they’re home during break." I think this is likely a testament that you built a solid relationship with them in the earlier years. Did you feel like there were certain things you did/didn't do in the earlier years that bore fruit in this way? :)

First - thanks for your kind words, Thalia. Lovely to hear from you and I'm excited to follow you. To answer your question, I definitely think it helps that I'm a stay-at-home dad. My default preference is having the kids at home. My daughter and I spent years doing life together, 24/7. Hiking. Cooking. Tea Parties. Dress up. Same with my son once he arrived. Most importantly, this is what I want, not simply what was best for our family.

It's so helpful to see friends write something that is "enough" here on Substack. I believe it is slowly helping me move out of perfectionism and fear around my own Substack. So thanks. :)
